“An Afternoon With Alisa Childers” was an event hosted by First Christian Church Lubbock on February 22, 2026. Our featured speaker was author and apologist, Alisa Childers. Alisa has written extensively on the topic of progressive Christianity and the realm of deconstruction in the Christian faith. This journey was set in motion by her own personal faith crisis that she recounts and reflects on in her first book Another Gospel? Through the Lord’s mercy to her by means of the holy scriptures, biblical ministers, and the writings of the Church fathers, her faith was rebuilt and is even stronger now than before. She has gone on to write Live Your Truth and Other Lies: Exposing Popular Deceptions That Make Us Anxious, Exhausted, and Self Obsessed and The Deconstruction of Christianity: What it Is, Why It’s Destructive, and How to Respond.
